Rogaining is a sport associated with cross country navigation, something between orienteering, trailrunning, adventure racing and hiking/mountain tourism.
How it all happens
The team is given a map with some checkpoints (CP) marked on it
Each CP has a different "cost" — from 1 to 9 points (usually this is the first digit of the CP number).
The team’s goal is to gather as many points as possible within the control time (CT).
Each team chooses the route independently, it is not necessary to "take" all the CPs, the main thing is to return to the Finish line before the CT expires.
Time on the distance is taken into account only if the points are equal.
